The 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil got underway in the early hours of Friday in China and no doubt many of those who stayed up to watch the opening match are feeling exhausted as they headed into work in the morning.

But fear not friends. There is a solution!

Just head on over to e-commerce website Taobao to purchase yourself some fake sick notes to get out of those dull meetings or business trips to get your World Cup fix (or much needed sleep before the next round of matches between midnight and 6 a.m.) for the month.

The addiction of the world’s most watched sporting event has got people in China and all around world skipping work, school and whatever other commitments they may have just to watch the world’s top football stars and teams at all hours of the day.

As for those fake sick notes, prices vary from a pack which cost RMB 1 to an “authentic” sick note with a hospital stamp and a doctor’s signature that will set you back RMB 300.

Now, while this may seem very tempting to buy, we at China Sports Review do not encourage any of our readers to follow through with this as it could lead to serious repercussions. One poor sap found out the hard way and posted this review:

From The UK Telegraph

“A fake. My company discovered and now I’ve been sacked,” one vented, in a furious online review. “Liars! Absolutely not to be trusted!”

Enjoy the World Cup and get some work (or sleep) done in between matches.
