EPL’s back for free in China (Update3)

The company so far has snatched deals with Guangdong TV, Jilin TV, Zhengzhou TV and SMG Shanghai, meaning that EPL will be back for free in Guangdong, Jilin, Henan Provinces and Shanghai. It appears WinTV is currently in talks with several other channels including Beijing TV. Guangdong, Jilin and Zhengzhou will air one game a week while Shanghai to broadcast four matches. Earlier this month, China Youth Media announced that they'll broadcast this season's EPL to China's 30 million plus colleage students via Kooboo, a video-sharing website, as part of a licensing agreement between them and WinTV.

What Can Yao Get from the Sharks?

The Chinese NBA star Yao Ming is buying his former CBA team, the Shanghai Sharks. The team finished the second last in the 08-09 season, the worst ever result in club's history.

"As a Shanghainese, I'm emotionally attached to the team," Yao was quoted as saying by a state-owned television station. "The club is now in a difficult situation and I hope I can do something to help."

KIA X Games Asia 2009 to Hit Shanghai Again

This year the event will showcase more than 200 of the best action sports athletes from more than 20 countries in world-class competition in the sports of Skateboard, BMX, In-Line Skate and Sport Climbing. New to the Asian X Games, this year's event will also feature a Moto X Big Air demonstration. Televised live from Shanghai's KIC Jiangwan Stadium, X Games Asia will air May 1 - May 3 on ESPN Asia networks and will be organized by sports broadcaster ESPN STAR Sports along with the Shanghai Media Group and Shanghai Sports Federation. The event will also be shown on ESPN International networks in Latin America, Australia, Middle East and Africa.
